McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site

Did you know that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be victims of some form of sexual abuse by the age of 18? Imagine if you were a sex abuse victim, how would you overcome the trauma? In response to this epidemic, the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site and the SyraCUSE Ultimate Frisbee Scene are sponsoring the 7th Annual Cazenovia Ultimate Frisbee Tournament (C.U.T.) on June 4th and 5th. Donations in the past has thus far helped raise nearly $25,000 for the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site.

The McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site is a non-profit organiziation that provides a child-friendly and safe haven that assists with prevention, investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse cases. The site works with sexual abuse cases from all over Central New York. All of these children need an advocate in order to mitigate their trauma and prevent further victimization. We are eager to bring child abuse issues to the community through this ultimate frisbee tournament. It will be an exciting event in which 275 athletes (16 teams), some with national level caliber, competing for the championship. All the top level teams from Pittsburgh to Boston and up to Toronto and Montreal will raise awareness for the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site and its sponsors through a full weekend of competition. This unique tournament will help to publicize sponsors while simultaneously raising funds to be used to provide services for children who have been abused and their families.
